Well, almost New Year. We're having a couple of kids over tonight for a little party. Hopefully, it will be fairly quiet. Ron and I hand-picked who was allowed over. Not everyone could make it, though.
I'm at work now, but will be leaving here in a couple of hours. Hopefully, I'll get a nap in before the kids come over.
Ron and the girls are helping David and Koren move. They are helping pack the truck, but can't go to unpack. Better than nothing, I guess.

Gas Prices
As I drive to work each day, I pass several gas stations. I do not understand why the Shell station always has people in it. The gas is $2.69, where across the street it's $1.75. Do people not look at prices when they pull into the station?

Monday down
We managed to get the mantle back together yesterday. I got home from work today, and Ron and the girls managed to get all the photos back on it. One less thing for me to do.
I got an early Christmas gift. I've been wanting an Ottoman/chest to store extra blankets. Ron and the girls picked it up for me today. They set it up since it was easier to do that than to wrap it.
The 5th grade girls won their tournament game yesterday, so today they had the playoffs. They won 1st place! I couldn't have been more proud.
I am headed to bed now, so I can get up early for work, and then to the rehearsal for the Nativity scene for Christmas eve Mass. I will not be casting the Nativity scene next year. I don't know who will, but it won't be me.

Start of a busy week
Today, I go into work for a few hours. Because we'll be closed on Thursday and Friday, some of the patients need to get their treatments.
After work, we have the 2nd game of our tournament. I hope the girls do as well today as they did on Friday. I've been trying to figure out who will be playing in which quarter. I think I have it figured out, unless someone doesn't show.
I got a lot of wrapping done yesterday, but Ron tells me I missed the stuff that he bought and hid. Hmmm. Didn't know they were there. Anyhow, got to get those wrapped today. There are still a few packages that haven't arrived yet.
I hope we can get the mantle put back up this weekend. We need to finalize the Christmas Eve menu and hit the grocery store, too.
Monday the girls have to have their teeth checked out. It's also the last game in the tournament after work.
Tuesday after work is rehearsal for the Nativity scene at Mass.
Wednesday is crazy day. House cleaning. Cooking. Final wrapping. Mass. Guests coming over. Staying up to get the living room ready for Santa. It will be fun, though.

So proud!
We had our first basketball game last night. It was just a tournament game, but still, it was the first game of the year. I was so proud of our team. They won, 16-8. The other team's parents were complaining that the team should have been an A team instead of registering as a B team. With last season in mind, and the way the girls behave at practice, I could not have signed them up as an A team. The girls who goof off at practice really pulled it together and played like they were supposed to play. They still need a little work, but they are getting there.
We'll see how we do at tomorrow's game.

Behind schedule
Every year, we put up our Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving. This year, I had too much going on, and I decided that the kids could do the majority of it. They were supposed to start with tidying up the living room. I wouldn't let them get the tree out of storage until their stuff was put away.
Boy were they surprised when the tree still wasn't up this weekend. They didn't think I was serious.
Sunday afternoon, Kat decided that the tree had to go up. She started picking up her stuff and went with me to get the tree up. We decided to put the tree up for a while, with nothing on it, since we weren't sure how the kitten would handle it. Well, it was up for less than a minute before she started chewing on it.

Soccer fieldI showed Kat this soccer field a couple of days ago. I told her that it's the field she will be playing on next year. She believed me. I've been trying to tell her that I was just teasing her, but she's convinced that it's the new field. I think we need to tease her more to get her used to it.
Stuff to do today
I took today off to try to catch up. Yesterday, I was told by many people that I just look exhausted. The topper was when Aly's 10-year-old friend told me that I look like I should go back to bed. I didn't argue. I just went.
Today, I'm going to try to get all the loose ends tied up from the Girl Scout nut sales. I made all the deposits already, and I'm waiting for a few more people to get the money to me. I think I'm making phone calls this afternoon to track down those parents. I still have to figure out who gets what prizes.
The girls have a prayer service at school. I was going to go, but since they get out early today, I think I'm not going to go, and spend the time doing something more useful.
I have started to plan out the basketball practice for Friday afternoon. We have a time, day, and location. We've contacted all the parents. I bought the equipment. I just need a plan and hope that it doesn't rain on Friday.
I still need to buy Kat the tank top and leggings that she needs for her dance performance next week. It's not easy to find tank tops this time of year. Especially black ones. The leggings I'm not so worried about.
Soccer practice is this afternoon. Thankfully, Eric offered to bring Kat with him. I can get some more stuff done while she's practicing.
Aly has decided that she's taking up fencing in the Spring. She found out that it's offered on the only night that we have nothing going on. It's across the street from us, so it won't be too hard to get her there. We're trying to figure out why she wants to do it. The registration can't go in until December 8, so I have a little time before I need to deal with that yet.
I hope that the stuff I ordered from ebay arrives today or at least before Friday afternoon. I'll be all set, equipment-wise, for Friday's practice.

Just getting started
Some days, I think, wow, I should write that down somewhere. Today, I am actually doing something about those thoughts.
Not that I have nothing else to do, it's just that I'm checking one more thing off my to do list.
I'm not sure how frequently I'll be posting on here, but we'll see how it goes. You never know until you try.
